Today I learned there were mini-golf courses all over South Minneapolis in the late 1920s and ’30s. This article on Southwest Voices gives a bunch of addresses where they were located and has several images from newspapers articles at the time.
It doesn't mention whether there were any in Saint Paul; it does say it was a bit of a nationwide craze, so there may have been.
Their Minneapolis locations followed the street car lines, not surprisingly, and while most were outdoor, there were some indoor courses as well.
There used to be a mini golf course on the south side of Como Avenue in Saint Paul across from the Minnesota State Fair that was open until about 1990, but it was eventually closed to extend the Fair's gigantic parking lots. It included a giant fiberglass Holstein cow, I remember, and a miniature red barn.
I think there's still one within Como Park, though I haven't visited it since Daughter Number Three-Point-One was a teenager.
