Of Course

Of course he's guilty. But it wasn't sure he would be found guilty. So good, and thanks to 12 New York jurors and Judge Merchan. And Alvin Bragg, and the prosecutors on the case.

I remember thinking 18 months ago or so when all of the cases facing Trump were reeled off on some show or other, and the New York "hush money" case was relegated as insignificant compared to the others. The talking heads — probably on MSNBC, given my viewing habits — said it would have to take a back seat to the other cases in terms of timing, since it was less important.

But Bragg's case was the little engine that could, as it turned out. Aileen Cannon has done for the documents case, Fani Willis in Georgia has been derailed, and the delays of Attorney General Merrick Garland + the Clarence-and Sam-stacked Supreme Court is doing in the January 6 case.

So once again New York's courts and its people hold New Yorker Donald Trump to some standard of justice, unlike everywhere else in this country.

Good for them.
