It looks as though Ben Collins, the NBC reporter who has been covering the uber-right-wing and conspiracy theorist for several years, has had enough of that (who can blame him!) and is taking a break.
Instead, he and some friends have bought The Onion. This is not a joke.
He says, "We’re keeping the entire staff, bringing back The Onion News Network, and will share the wealth with staff. Basically, we’re going to let them do whatever they want."
They are, of course, taking financial contributions.
