Early in the Israeli bombardment of Gaza, Palestinians were told to flee south as northern Gaza was hit with more ordinance than had been used in entire years of other recent wars.
This satellite mapping, compiled by two researchers in the U.S. and shown on the BBC, was shared on The Weekly Sift today:
The mapping shows that southern Gaza is also heavily targeted, including the border city of Rafah itself— the place where people wait to cross into Egypt.
The damage, according to the BBC, includes 50–61% of the buildings in Gaza. There were people in the buildings, of course: So far more than 23,000 of them.
