The newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives is an unapologetic Christian theocrat, not to mention, of course, a backer of Trump's attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
With his Republican colleagues' "enthusiastic" support for the job today, we now have:
Republicans as a group have shown they cannot hold positions of responsibility in a democracy (or a republic or anything resembling either one).
