It's taken way too long, and who knows how effective it will be, but this is a piece of good news: the Department of Justice is suing eBay for selling "rolling coal" devices.
They've been around for something like 10 years, so this comes very late. They were first on the market well before the Trump administration, since I wrote about them in September 2016 and said I had heard about it a few years earlier.
One thing I learned from the linked article is how the danged things work: they "pump more diesel into a vehicle’s engine than it can handle," which results in the sooty black smoke.
DOJ is bringing the suit on behalf of the EPA; the fines could amount to $2 billion.
