I had plans for a lengthy post on a weighty subject, but the day has gotten away from me. Instead, I have this photo to share, which I saw on Facebook, of all places:
This is a sculpture from southern Wales called Twisted Chimney (Simnai Dirdro). Though it looks like brick, it was actually carved out of steel by New York sculptor Brian Tolle in 2010.
According to the BBC, it represents the chimney of a former ironworks that stood in the Welsh valley. I feel a bit envious of this place that commits money to creating art worth seeing while commemorating part of its history.
