Looks Good Enough to Eat

I was browsing though boingboing.net and found a post that showed something so brilliant...yet so obvious I can't believe it hasn't been done before, or that someone I know didn't think of it.

Someone on the site they were referring to, pund03000, shot photos of ads and packaging for processed foods (boxed, frozen, canned, fast) and compared them to photos of what the foods actually look like when you take them out of the package.

Here are a few samples. (This was done in Germany, so all of the packages are in German, and the foods are unfamiliar for the most part.)

(You can see the whole thing nicely displayed on an English-language site at funtasticus.com.)

It's ironic that the farther we get from producing our own food, the more we want to be fooled into believing the food we eat is beautiful and therefore natural, not something that came from a large, industrialized system.
