Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, I just realized that I've missed noting two significant anniversaries in my own life.
I moved to Minnesota 40 years ago at the beginning of September (I don't remember the exact date I arrived).
I moved into the house I live in 30 years ago, just before the beginning of September.
That means September 11 was only five years after we moved into this house. It seems like more than five years had elapsed between the two, and not nearly as many years since.
This is not an original thought, but the collapsing of time as I get older is something I will never get used to.
