The first half of August 2026 concluded primary season for the midterm elections, most prominently in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. There were big fires and terrible smoke in newsworthy parts of the country, as well as continuing heat made worse by climate change and disease from contaminated food.
There was news of the DHS/ICE shock glove, which I wrote about a few days ago. Trump did a cowardly escape from not one but two Air Force One planes, leaving journalists and Marco Rubio to die if Iran decided to attack "his" plane.
Illegalities by the Trump regime continued, with some revealed by court cases (as with the Minneapolis 15) and others stopped, at least temporarily. Water systems in more than a half-dozen states, dozens and dozens of cities (I've never heard a number) were under a cyber attack by Iran, but Trump blamed it on.... Minnesota.
People continue to die in the regime's camps and detention centers, which the government works to expand and add more to every day, including here in Minnesota (the town of Appleton). Haitians and other people previously with temporary protected status are now being detained and deported, or having ankle monitors forced on them.
This is Trump's and Republicans' America.
