Pam Is Making Her List

I've seen this list posted before, since Bondi's memo was leaked about two weeks ago:

I've been doing my best to ignore it because every line of it is clearly unconstitutional.

But with our current Supreme Court, that seems less and less reassuring, so when I saw it shared again today, it felt like something worth mentioning.

Maybe it was because the person who posted it today juxtaposed it with this, the title of an Executive Order from Trump's first day in office, and that was finally just too much for me:

I feel so great about my "restored" freedom of speech, with which I am not allowed to question capitalism, Christianity, law or immigration enforcement, gender, traditional views of family, religion, or morality.

This from a government made up of the most un-American people I've ever seen, who think they get to define what it means to be American.

That list is bad. You won't find it, intact, in the memo. The words are sprinkled throughout, and usually adjacent to references to violence. But as has been seen repeatedly in Chicago (and now here in the Twin Cities), we know that federal agents claim protesters were violent when it was actually the agents who were violent — so that is no help in preventing federal charges.

The rest of the memo is just as bad. It describes the list of "crimes" that can be charged (all the way down to "picketing or parading with intent to obstruct the administration of justice"), and hints at the resources the Department of Just-Us will bring to bear against us criminals.

So much freedom, I can hardly stand it.
