In Mauston, Wisconsin, there's a metal commercial building near the edge of the downtown area that has had a few letters taken from its sign.
I say that I think they were taken on purpose because only one letter is missing from each side.
The missing letter makes this side of the sign into something funny:
The other side is not funny, and the missing "i" is almost not noticeable, but the two missing letters together spell HI. So it seems likely they were taken to spell that word:
I also wanted to point out that these letters, made of metal, are close to three feet tall.
I don't know how they were removed. It's possible they fell off, but I don't think so. The rest of them look securely attached.
