It's often hard to watch for good-news stories, especially related to climate topics. On Sunday, there were two in the Star Tribune, one at the top of the front page, and another a few pages into the front section.
The top story (gift link) tells of the timeline for shutting down Minnesota's three largest coal-fired power generators, located in Sherburne County, which is on the northwest corner of the Twin Cities. One will stop operating on New Year's Eve, another in 2026, and the third (and largest) in 2030.
The other story, from the Associated Press, debunks misinformation (or disinformation) from groups like the Heartland Institute and Heritage Foundation, meant to protect fossil fuel companies' interests.
It's good to see clear headlines that don't "both-sides" the topics discussed in the stories.
