A friend who lives in Delaware posted these photos to Facebook, saying they were of products left in their 1940s house by the previous owners who had worked at Dupont.
My friend was about to take them to the household toxics disposal place, but wanted to immortalize the midcentury packaging, and I can see why:
The turpentine can is familiar-looking — possibly turpentine cans are still similar to this, or at least were during my lifetime — but Dic-a-Doo is not even a familiar product type, let alone brand, and the Duco paint can lettering is classic post-World War II. Beautiful.
Looking around online, it appears all of these would have at least some value to collectors of packaging. I didn't see any versions of the Duco can that looked like this one. From its style, I would say this one is earlier than the ones that are available.
