I don't need any books!
But I did buy three at the library's annual book sale anyway.
I didn't get to spend enough time scouting for vintage covers, however. Despite that limitation, I did happen upon a few worth recording:
The first is from a 1960 children's book from a series I've never heard of.
I gather this second example was an annual publication from a woman broadcaster's daily radio show, which compiled letters and suggestions from her listeners. It included recipes and household hints. I don't know what the 1955 edition had to do with the Beadle School.
I think my mom had this book, or one very similar.
The last cover fooled me: it's not old, but rather an illustration and design meant to look vintage for a trilogy of novels from the mid-1980s. I didn't notice the Penguin Classics logo until I was working on the photographs for this post.

Oh, the Mrs. Coverlet books are fun. I think that's the one I have stashed away somewhere, but I read them all as a kid. Three siblings, the youngest being the Toad, a born troublemaker. Mrs. Coverlet is the housekeeper who keeps them all from disaster at the last minute; mostly it's about the older siblings trying and failing to keep the Toad from doing something nefarious. I learned that tortiseshell cats are valuable from those books.
