Science R&D Over Time

I was cleaning up some piles o' stuff in my living quarters yesterday and I came across a half-read Discover magazine from last spring. It had some good stuff, but this was the most memorable piece:

There's no truncated Y axis in that graph: the federal funding line really does go all the way down to 20% by 2018. 

Oh, and what decade was it when the divergence toward our present gulf in funding began?

The 1980s. Just one more way of graphing Reagan.
