Giving Up

If you're going to plant containers in a public place outside a business, you have to maintain them. It's one more thing to do, I know, and I'm sure there's always a lot going on. But still.

I've seen my share of weeds and containers that need to be watered, but today I saw what may have been the funniest one ever:

That entire container is filled with a giant weed. I'm not sure if there's an intended plant hiding out underneath it or not. I think there may be some fake flowers down there among the decorative birch branches. 

But they've been overwhelmed by the most thriving Polygonum plant I've ever seen. Maybe someone took time to fertilize it?
