And Now, a Break for a Camel Bite

There's a page in most editions of the Star Tribune, located at the back of the Minnesota section. It's the last odd-numbered page, and it's the place where they run all of the short crime and car crash stories. Stories that would probably be major news in a small media market if such places still had newspapers. But here, it's just small enough of a market that they get a few inches of copy in the paper.

Generally, the page is a mash-up of the worst of the Twin Cities and rural areas of Minnesota. Drunk drivers killing people, minor shootings (even homicides), domestic violence. And run-of-the-mill car crashes that happen for no good reason, too.

And then there are stories like this one:

Newspaper story with headline Camel at privately owned zoo bites two workers in the head

When I saw this headline, I laughed out loud. It was such a relief from the usual content of the page, and so absurd.

I wonder if the reporter and editors thought the same thing?
