I woke up this morning to a tweet that informed me the late-19th century funeral of someone named Henry George was the second-most attended one in U.S. history, yet almost no one knows who he is these days.
I am one of the people who does not know who he is, so I looked him up right away.
Now, as I was thinking of something to post for the day, I found that the person who had posted about George's funeral this morning later posted a long thread about who George was and what he thought.
Read that thread and think about how we come to forget someone as well known as this by the time I was growing up in the mid-20th century. It's a strange world.
