Brian Jackson

Long-time readers know I love Gil Scott-Heron and his music, and that means I love Brian Jackson, too, but I have never learned much about Jackson.

This recent article from the Guardian fills us all in a bit on his music, life, and their relationship.

Jackson, 2022, is not quite 70, healthy, and still playing music (or returned to playing music after leaving it for a while). It's sad to read that he was shut out of royalties for the music he cowrote over more than a decade. But his attitude of moving on and not feeding lawyers may have been for the best. 

His new album (This Is Brian Jackson, due May 27) sounds like it will be worth getting.
