A Little Girl in My Kitchen

I've never felt any interest in Hummel figurines, despite my general affection for miniature things. Maybe it's their scale (too large)?

However, this ceramic figure is one of the few things I wanted from among my late mother-in-law's things:

I don't think it's an actual Hummel, but it's clearly of a similar type except for the scale, which you can judge from the comparison with the lid of a half-gallon milk container. She could probably take a bath in it.

I see this little girl in her green kerchief and apron each time I use my kitchen sink. She makes me smile and think of my mother-in-law.

Just a little thing I think of every day.
