A week or so ago, the Guardian posted a cool, interactive graphic explainer about levels of infectiousness. Of course, covid and the Delta variant were the major focus, but it compared them with other diseases.
I learned some things from it, but my favorite aspect was the sheer beauty of this part:

Those are the R0 values of a range of diseases, with covid in the first three spots (Delta in the third one) and the 1918 influenza in the fourth spot. In the second row, the far left is ebola, followed by SARS, chickenpox, and measles.
The radial multiplication is terrifying.
But aren't they beautiful?
