Did you hear about the Oxford study that found the current trend of renewable energy adoption is going fast enough to lead to net zero within 25 years? And it will cost less money than fossil fuels would have cost, even without factoring in the usually unaccounted-for costs from fossil fuels?
Now, 25 years is not fast enough for the climate crisis, but that estimate is based on just doing what we're doing without any extra effort, or even stopping the fossil fuel companies from trying to impede them. So we can do better than that.
Slowing the transition down (or putting more into nuclear, for instance) makes it more expensive.
