Long Day, a Few Tabs

It has been a long day, so here are a couple of tabs that have been weighing down my browsers. (You should hear the fan on my computer).

The myth that gets men out of doing chores. They’re just as good at recognizing messes as women—they just don’t feel the same pressure to clean them up. That one's from from The Atlantic in January.

An interview by Noah Smith with James Medlock. The pseudonymous prophet bringing the word of Social Democracy to the masses.

Study tells why women have higher injury risk in car crashes. Women are more likely to be injured or killed because of vehicle choice and the types of crashes they're involved in, not because of physiological differences.

Teaching kindness isn't enough. Teaching kindness is a staple of elementary practice, but that isn’t the same as teaching justice. From Learning for Justice, fall 2019.

The world's most annoying man (guess who: Stephen Pinker). From Current Affairs, May 2019.

I think every guy should read Emma’s The Mental Load.

But it still wouldn’t help Steven Pinker.

I keep vowing I will sort the tabs, deal with each so I can close them 1 by 1 by 1, sometimes the computer crashes & eradicates them for me. And yet I still have an average of 19 tabs open constantly, all of which must stay open as they're sooooo important.
*I like the Mental Load article, as a side effect it's reminded me to feel grateful I'm now permanently 'single', I don't know why I ever naively thought it was a good idea not to be - being raised on Fairy Tales I guess - but the exhausting hassle of trying to fit a role which was never me, & to do everything, except being me.. At least with kids they try, & they're honest, & good company, mostly, & 1 day they'll grow up & maybe look after me if/when needed, but partners just do my head in & I should've realised that sooner. Life is such a strange & hard-won learning curve.

Wow, Michael, I had not seen The Mental Load. Thanks for that.
