If you're part of Twin Cities Twitter, you may already know about this, but if not, here's a bit of jollity that I hope will brighten your day. You know how we Minnesotans all abhor our state flag with its racist, overly detailed seal, and think it's ripe for a redesign? But how none of us have any great ideas that don't include north stars or loons or some such clichéd drivel?
Well, Twitter user Vic Thorstenson, who as far as I know is usually talking about old signs and buildings in Minneapolis (and sometimes typography), posted this a few days ago:
He captioned it, "Behold my design for a new MN state flag. It's — – as in em en."
While drawing doesn't appear to be Vic's strong suit, it doesn't have to be. I love this concept and think we should adopt it immediately, despite my dislike of postal abbreviations like MN.
Runner-up for this design, though in the general category of state flags, comes from Vic's respondent @flipdrivel: "Of course a stet flag would look like this":
Of course it would.

Fantastic! I should at least be a sticker if it won’t go as a flag. Light blue on dark blue, for the land of lakes?
