And Now a Moment to Talk About Tariffs and Bailouts

In the midst of all the other travesties wrought by the current occupant, I have not paid much attention to Mulligan's trade war with China. Compared to everything else, it doesn't seem that important.

So when I heard a new fact about it a day or so ago, I wasn't even sure I had heard it correctly at first. But this story from yesterday's Star Tribune confirmed I had:


Read the secondary headline in that clipping. It says: "In response to latest tariffs, China will halt purchases of all U.S. farm products."

All U.S. farm products!

That news came well after Mulligan announced he would send $16 billion of our tax dollars to U.S. farmers to help make up the trade lost due to the trade war. But here's what I didn't know about those farmers' subsidies:


So...the vast majority of farmers aren't getting much from Mulligan's bailout. The rich get richer, and on and on we go.
