Rebecca Traister has put into more extended words my frustration with MSNBC (and other major media) as they continue to give us pundits like Chris Matthews and Donnie Deutsch.

Chris Hayes and a few other MSNBC hosts have a set of regular commentators who look a lot more like America or at least like Democrats (Jason Jones, Maria Theresa Kumar, Cornell Belcher, Christina Greer, Dorian Warren, Zerlina Maxwell, Elie Mystal, Victoria DeFrancesco Soto, Tara Dowdell) and who bring a different perspective than most of the old white men on the rest of the network (and other networks).

I wonder what happens behind the scenes at MSNBC? The firing of Melissa Harris Perry was a glimpse of the true mainstream/big business worldview of the network. The network is not part of the "resistance," whatever that is at this point. Parts of it are better than average mainstream media and other parts are not.

Know the difference.
