No Words, Unspeakable

I will not watch the footage, but the president of our country tonight stood at a podium and basked while his crowd of admirers chanted the words "Send her back" after he spent three minutes criticizing Rep. Ilhan Omar.

This is incitement against a U.S. citizen and member of Congress.

Omar's response (on Twitter) so far has been to quote a poem by Maya Angelou:

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.
Some other Twitter responses:
Season Two is gonna rock. I wonder what the Season Three chant will be? “Wipe ’em out,” perhaps?

If you don’t agree with every policy of our government or every stance of our culture you should LEAVE and go someplace where they don’t love FREEDOM as much as WE do

The president is hosting a glorified Klan rally and tomorrow we’ll all drown in hot takes about why it’s bad for Democrats.

he is actively endangering a sitting member of congress. publicly and repeatedly. and no one is doing anything. black lives really don't matter no matter how fucking high you climb.

Real "give-us-barabbas" vibes here

Donald Trump’s campaign is going to be nothing but calling his enemies criminals and foreigners while his crowds chant lock them up and send them back. We are in dangerous, dangerous territory.

If people are this freaked out about having Muslim women in Congress, then I hope many more sisters run for office. Flip every fucking table in that place.
