Very Strange, from 1907

I have no idea what this image was about when it was made:


I found it today via Cory Doctorow's Twitter feed... it's from a Tumblr that's marked adults-only and that I can't view.

On top of the general oddity of the imagined scene, there's one final bit of strangeness: the small copyright text at lower left says "Drawing only Copyright 1907 by Albert Hahn, N.Y." What is there to copyright other than the drawing? And is this a painting instead of a drawing, which makes that wording even more confusing?

I have no idea.
