Here are a few of the stick figures I saw in a couple of European countries during a recent trip. First there's the basic pedestrian crossing sign:
Emergency exits were often marked by this type of running figure, shown on a green background:
To me, some of them looked more as though the figure is dancing (especially that first one), which was reinforced by playful version of the exit figure that I saw in an airport:
There is, of course, the danger of falling between the platform and the train:
Very real, of course, but in this case it looks as though the train is using a yellow tractor beam to pull the unsuspecting stick figure to its death.
And finally, there's the danger of farting black rectangles, which cannot be emphasized too much:
