More Names That Are Bad for Business

Following from my earlier post on this topic.

Black awning. Name of business reads: Hope Chest for Breast Cancer
I can't decide if the Junior League (which operates this St. Paul shop) named it this way because they thought it was clever, or if they are truly naive.

Perhaps they should go to the logical next step, and just call the shop "Chest Hope." Then it would literally reflect its purpose!

(Nice shop, though. Good prices!)

Sign reading Endwell Animal Hospital. Ticks are here, protect your pets with Frontline Plus
It's not the ticks that got my attention on this sign, but rather the name "Endwell Animal Hospital."

This is one of those cases where most of the people who see the sign don't even think about the name -- because this sign is in the middle of a suburb called Endwell.

But if you didn't know that, wouldn't you think it's kind of an inappropriate brand promise? The name says, Bring your pets to us, and their lives will end well.

I guess that's not so bad if you have to put your pet to sleep, but what about when it's just a checkup?

I've often been bemused by the Hope Chest Store on Snelling as well.
