New Mittens

The Twin Cities got six inches of heavy, wet snow Thursday night, and six more inches of fluffier stuff yesterday afternoon and evening. I've been out shoveling my own steps and walks, of course, but also some bus stops and curb cuts that never get shoveled.

Thus, I have finally worn a hole in the thumb of my trusty double-knit mittens:

Sad, and probably fixable if I take them to a Fixit clinic or ask a knitting friend.

But in the meantime, it means I get to start wearing the ones I got back before Christmas:

One of the best parts of winter: getting to wear mittens.
