Ivanka Smiles Through It

My main thought about the content of Ivanka Trump's recent interview, where she says she believes her father has not committed serial sexual assault, is that it's a great example of why nepotism is a bad idea. You work for the White House, Ivanka. For the people of the United States. You have to answer questions from the press, and you don't get to play the "child" card when it's convenient.

But the thing about the interview that creeps me out is how she smiles as she talks about this subject. Look at these screen snapshots from the interview. What does it look like this woman is talking about while she smiles like this? Her latest brand launch? Her kids? A fun trip she took?

No.

In this one, the words she's saying are "when he's affirmatively stated that there's no truth to it":

In this one she is saying "I don't believe that's a question you would ask many other daughters":

And in this one, where she looks like she has just won a pony, she has barely finished saying those words:

I recommend you try talking while smiling like this, especially about something unpleasant or upsetting. It is very hard to do. It takes practice. It is not natural.

This woman is a wreck, even though she is also wrecking our country.
