A Syllabus

There was a long thread on BlueSky a week ago, in which the poster said,

I think it's now possible to make a poli-sci course that equips one for modern political analysis better than most classic theory and has a syllabus sourced entirely from random internet posts.

And then he proceeded to quote and screenshot dozens and dozens of well-known tweets and BlueSky posts, starting with Wilhoit's Law:

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

Some of the quoted items are recent, and I admit many are not familiar. It seemed to me as though the most obvious ones started to appear after he got to #30 or so.

Here's one I hadn't heard before, from Kilgore Trout @KT_So_It_Goes:

National populism is the vapid belief that you have the right to both modern standards and living & your grandfather's job & culture. It is a belief for people who've quite believing, and settled instead for a fantastically blend of utopian nostalgia.

It includes a number of cartoons, including this classic:

A good bit of filing cabinet storage, if nothing else.
