A Chalk Welcome Back

I spent a half hour early this morning holding a sign telling parents to slow down as they approached the car drop-off area near an elementary school. (Which, if you had told me there would be such a thing back when I was in elementary school... I would have thought you were making it up. But I digress.)

As the children entered the school, they were welcomed not just by people, but by chalk on the sidewalk.

There were lots of other written messages, too, but these four spots on the concrete were my favorites:

The number of chalked panels was particularly notable because we had a rain storm last night at about 5:30 p.m., so this chalk work was done some time after that (or very early this morning).
