Taking the Long View

Well, whatever happens to all of us and our foreseeable future generations, here's what will be happening on Earth in 250 million years, according to National Geographic:

Basically, Africa and Antarctica are moving north, so the Atlantic will all but disappear, the Indian Ocean will become an inland sea almost like the Mediterranean, Asia is mostly moving south, and the Pacific will still be huge, even more huge, I think. New mountain ranges will rise where the continents run together, and the part of Siberia near Alaska will become a large island.

Meanwhile New Zealand will still be hanging out not very near anything else.
