Here are two stories I just read that brought tears to my eyes.
From John Scalzi, Meet Keith Johnson. About the effect a teacher can have, written in response to an anti-gay tweet.
From the New Yorker, The Untold Story of the Pentagon Papers Co-conspirators. About historian Gar Alperovitz, who, it turns out, was the person organizing all those drops to journalists in 1971, while
Daniel Ellsberg hid out from the FBI. (Alperovitz to this day is a significant figure in work for economic justice and community ownership. What an inspiration!)
And here's one that just made me angry anf sad, from a neighborhood paper here in St. Paul: Klan Promoted Auto Show (1917). Those who do not remember the past are condemned to relive it.
