This garage sale find has been sitting in my home office for a few years.
I originally got this pile of miniature books because I could see the spine of the second book said "Ben Shahn," but somehow I had never untied the ribbon to investigate.
It's a small book, about three by five inches.
Inside, every other page has a few bars of a song about the baby Jesus and the Virgin Mary, hand lettered, alternating with ink drawings by Shahn.
I've omitted multiple pages here....
But I really like this angel playing a violin.
The book ends with this inscription:
