At Least We'll Have Sousa

Today I caught part of the NPR (WAMU) program 1A, where they were discussing the layoffs of 15% of the State Department's staff. Among others, the layoffs include the head of the Israel-Palestine area, and a raft of experts and analysts on Russia, Ukraine, and China.

As many have said: what would anyone sent directly by Putin to ruin the U.S. do differently than Trump is doing?

Anyway, the reason I'm posting about it (and sorry — I can't provide a link to the audio since they don't post it very quickly) is that one of the facts given by a guest stood out to me:

The number of people employed by the State Department — worldwide and in D.C. (before the layoffs) — is less than the number of people in U.S. military bands.

And the Trump regime is getting rid of 15% of the accumulated knowledge of that small number of people — and the investment we've all made in them with our tax dollars — on a complete and utter ideological whim.
