On this day in American history:

In 1923, the Supreme Court barred South Asians from becoming American citizens.

In 1942, FDR issued an executive order authorizing the internment of Japanese-Americans. (It was finally rescinded on the same date in 1976 by Gerald Ford.)

Quite a day.
