Two Hyphens for a Cowboy-Hat-Wearing Hero

I am a fan of hyphens. I've even written about multi-word adjectival phrases that needed two hyphens. (Or should that be a hyphen and an en dash? That's one bit of detail I never adhere to.)

Today, in the midst of the Twitter storm around the Boston bombing, I saw this:


This fine example of the need for two hyphens brought to you by Andy Kroll, one of my favorite reporters at Mother Jones magazine. He reports the stories and lets others worry about the hyphens, which is fine by me.
