Readability Is a Cross to Bear

Clearly, I disagree with the people who own this car in many ways:


But the thing that bugs me about it the most is the hideous treatment of the S in Jesus. Yes, that red thing to the left of the license plate says Jesus.

I keep thinking of critiques that include words like "tortured" or "sacrifices legibility" without even trying to pun. Maybe the designer can resurrect some common sense next time.
