Depressing Fact for a Beautiful Day

I've been out bicycling and raking leaves to uncover my spring-blooming ephemeral wild flowers. Feeling kind of tired but happy. So I guess that means it's time for a depressing fact.

I recently attended a skeptics conference, called SkepTech, put on by students at the University of Minnesota. One of the speakers was this guy, Tim Farley of the blog What's the Harm, which debunks many kinds of pseudoscience and quackery.
