The Blooms of Regret

Huffington Post writer Bronnie Ware, a hospice worker, recently shared the Top Five Regrets of the Dying. It was a bit obvious in terms of its content, but worth reading nonetheless.

However, I can't figure out why the editors chose this photo to promote the story:


What do blackeyed Susans have to do with the subject? Is one of the top five regrets "I didn't plant enough native wild flowers"?

I suppose it's a visual metaphor for stopping to smell the flowers... but this kind of flower has no scent.

And I wonder if HuffPo paid Outlaw Menace Photography for use of the image?
