From yesterday's newspaper:
Look how unsafe that area is, and how much those four camouflage-clad soldiers are needed to keep that place safe from a guy on a bike and couple of tourists walking by.
Mike Lukovich's offering dated today:
I don't know if you've seen any of the various videos coming out of Washington, D.C., of residents being accosted by an alphabet soup of incompetent national "law enforcement officers" — for things that are not illegal in the District. Or news that West Virginia's governor is getting ready to send his state's National Guard into D.C. for no good purpose. Or that the Trump regime plans to arm the National Guard, counter what had been promised. Or the ICE agents or other unidentifiable enforcers saying or doing overtly political things, like tearing down a pro-immigrant banner and leaving behind a dildo (!) or replying to a bystander who told them, "You guys are ruining this country, you know that, right?" that "Liberals already ruined it."
There were significant protests in D.C. today about all of this, which takes an increasing amount of guts to attend as the boot descends.
Thousands marched in the streets to the White House.
