Persian Cat Press Secretary

Karoline Leavitt's bald-faced lying as presidential press secretary is her true misdeed, of course, but there was something else about her that kept bugging me.

I've never been a fan of Persian cats and their flat faces. It finally occurred to me that was it, when I saw this particular picture of Leavitt, which has been making the rounds recently:

I've found the cat photo to compare, of course, but Leavitt's appearance is a purposeful creation.

With both a larger nose and mouth. Like a human being instead of a cat.
