This NPR story teaser made me laugh, in that purely Trump-idiocracy-era way that has come to exist:
Todd Blanche, a former personal lawyer for President Trump, is now acting Librarian of Congress. According to his public profile, Blanche has no experience working in libraries or archives.
Todd Blanche, you may recall, was one of Trump's attorneys in the New York case that he lost. But I suppose he's more qualified for the job than Jeannine Pirro is to be U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C.*
This comes after Trump fired the competent and respected Librarian of Congress because she's Black.
And ICE arrested the mayor of Newark, also probably because he's Black. While white South Africans are beginning to come into the country as "refugees," vetted after only a few months when people from other countries wait years, and are now not allowed in at all.
Just another few days in Trump's America.

* In addition to all of the head-shaking stupidity Pirro has spouted over the years on Fox News and elsewhere, the thing about her that makes her unqualified for any public office is her egregious 2018 endangerment of the public. She was driving 119 mph on an interstate with a 65 mph speed limit in the Town of Nichols in Upstate New York (in my home county). This is reckless disregard for human life, which I would say fits with her general lack of empathy.
