I called both my senators and my representative this morning (all Democrats) to encourage them to do everything they can to stop Trump's unconstitutional impoundment of Congressionally appropriated funds.
The head of the Office of Management and Budget who enacted this hasn't been approved yet. RFK Jr. has his hearing tomorrow, and Kash Patel soon after. None of them should be approved (obviously) but even less so given these most recent actions.
Even though a federal judge has (in theory) stopped the OMB impoundment order until Monday, it may or may not have any effect, and who knows if it will hold up. Meals aren't being served, rent's not being paid, people aren't getting paychecks for work they've already done, job offers aren't being made, lab experiments are being interrupted... who knows what all is happening. Certainly not the jerks who caused this.
Calling makes a difference, whether to Republicans or Democrats. Register your disapproval of this assertion of dictatorial authority over federal spending.
