Recent Jeopardy! Update

I've been watching these Jeopardy! Wildcard games lately, which feature players who won at least a few games at an earlier point. I'm not sure why they're doing this format instead of having new players on; I think it's because they don't have enough players for this year's Tournament of Champions.

Anyway, it seems to me that these players should be less likely to come across a question that none of them knows the answer to, given that they're all experienced players who've proven they're better at the game than at least some other players.

But we all have gaps. In the past couple of games, the three players have not known one about The Canterbury Tales that was obviously answered with "the Wife of Bath," and they didn't recognize the most famous photo of Toulouse Lautrec (or they couldn't pair it with the description that was given of him, which I don't remember):

This is the photo of Lautrec they didn't recognize.

There are occasionally truly obscure questions, but these two were not among them.
