I was hoping for a non-Valentine's-Day-Valentine's Day post.
Then I saw this from Nina Turner on Twitter:
Like many born into slavery, abolitionist Frederick Douglass never knew his birthday.
His mother called him “little valentine” and so he chose to celebrate on Valentine’s Day.
Happy birthday, Frederick Douglass.
